Cancellation & Refund Policy

Quick summary: You can cancel your subscription at any time. Monthly subscribers retain access until the end of their billing period. Annual subscribers who cancel within 14 days of purchase may be eligible for a pro-rata refund. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply.

1. Overview

This policy applies to all paid subscriptions to FencerApp ("the Service") available at fencerapp.com.au. We offer both monthly and annual subscription plans.

We want you to be satisfied with FencerApp. If the Service is not working for your business, we make it straightforward to cancel and, where applicable, to receive a refund.

2. How to Cancel

You can cancel your subscription at any time using one of the following methods:

Option A: Cancel within the App (Recommended)

  1. Log in to your FencerApp account.
  2. Go to Account Settings → Subscription → Cancel Subscription.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm cancellation.
  4. You will receive a confirmation email once cancellation is processed.

Option B: Contact Support

Email us at support@fencerapp.com.au with your registered email address and a request to cancel. We will process your cancellation within 1 business day and confirm via email.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period (monthly) or immediately (annual, within the 14-day window). Your account will remain active until that date.

3. Monthly Subscriptions

  • You may cancel your monthly subscription at any time.
  • Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current monthly billing cycle. You retain full access to the Service until that date.
  • You will not be charged for the following month once you cancel.
  • Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable — we do not issue refunds for partial months already billed, except as required by the Australian Consumer Law (see Section 7).
Example: If you are billed on the 10th of each month and you cancel on the 18th, you retain access until the 9th of the following month and will not be billed again. No refund is issued for the current billing period.

4. Annual Subscriptions

4.1 Cancellation Within 14 Days ("Change of Mind")

If you cancel an annual subscription within 14 days of the initial purchase date (or renewal date), you are eligible for a pro-rata refund for any full calendar months remaining in your annual subscription period.

The refund will be calculated as: (Number of full unused months ÷ 12) × annual subscription price paid.

4.2 Cancellation After 14 Days

  • If you cancel after the 14-day period, your subscription will not be renewed at the end of the annual term but no refund will be issued for the remaining period.
  • You retain full access to the Service until the end of your paid annual term.

4.3 Annual Renewal Reminder

We will send you a reminder email at least 14 days before your annual subscription renews, so you have the opportunity to cancel before you are charged for another year.

5. Refund Eligibility

5.1 Circumstances Where Refunds May Be Issued

Outside of the annual 14-day change-of-mind window, refunds may be issued in the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate charge: If you were charged more than once for the same subscription period due to a billing error.
  • Charge after cancellation: If you were charged after a confirmed cancellation was processed.
  • Significant service failure: If the Service was substantially unavailable or failed to perform as described for an extended period, and we were unable to rectify it. See Section 7 (Australian Consumer Law).
  • Fraud: If your account was compromised and used without your authorisation, and you notified us promptly.

5.2 How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email support@fencerapp.com.au with:

  • Your registered email address.
  • The reason for the refund request.
  • Any relevant details or supporting information.

We aim to respond to all refund requests within 5 business days. Approved refunds will be credited to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card provider.

6. Your Data After Cancellation

When your subscription ends:

  • Your account and data (customers, quotes, invoices) will be retained for 90 days following cancellation.
  • During this 90-day period, you may reactivate your subscription or export your data at any time by logging in.
  • After 90 days, all account data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems.
  • Billing records are retained for 7 years as required by Australian tax law, but are not accessible to you after account deletion.
We strongly recommend exporting your data before your account expires. See your account settings for data export options.

7. Australian Consumer Law Rights

Nothing in this Cancellation & Refund Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Under the ACL, you have non-excludable consumer guarantees, including that services will be provided with due care and skill and will be fit for their stated purpose. If the Service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy including a refund, regardless of this Policy.

If you believe you have a consumer law right to a refund, please contact us at support@fencerapp.com.au. If we cannot resolve your concern, you may seek assistance from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) at www.accc.gov.au or your state's consumer protection agency.
